Nissan LEAF Driver Stranded at Static Charging Station
When driving through Harlow, in Essex, this Nissan EV LEAF owner became stranded at a static charging point because there was no charging lead. Although the driver had a charging lead in the car, it only had a 3-pin wall connector. The customer wanted the quickest possible solution to the problem.
The fastest and most efficient solution available was with the RAC, who were able to swiftly dispatch a patrol vehicle armed with the Charge Pod system. Due to the weather conditions, the EV took a little while to wake up (a Nissan manufacturing function) because the battery had become extremely flat, then after a quick charge the LEAF was provided with a 6-mile range which was ample to get the car heater on and allow the LEAF driver to promptly get to another static charging station.
